Tuesdays' the new Monday

Well if you're wondering why I didn't post yesterday, it's because I've been working a lot. Working to the point of not remembering key parts of my senior year summer homework like writing this blog nobody cares about. While pessemistic to say the least due to a cocktail of exhaustion and anxiety, I've been working on my animation for this month, and it's going as good as I can ask for with the materials at hand. Besides working both in the real world and the world of high school assignments I haven't done anything worth noting because there all I have time for and it stressing me out like there is no tomorrow and only fragments of blackness before a new pile of stuff lands on my ever weakening back. Music used to aid in this time of despair and near collapse of mental strength includes Bill Baird's Goodbye Vibrations, Bomb the Music Industry's Vacation, and Wingnut Dishwasher Union's Burn the Earth, Leave it Behind. All I'm hoping for is a better week and I'm not to sure that hopes gonna do anything.

Monday funday

Another weeks gone by and I feel both thankful of the events that happened over the course of the seven days as well as regretful of not accomplishing some of the big goals I have set for myself at the beginning of this sunny period of relaxation. In terms of fun and enjoyable activities that happened, I threw my first surprise parties for a friend of mines 18th year of life. It was quite nice seeing such a meek and overall quite individual explode with a sudden and unsespecting cheer of their existence. The mood was conversational and the music was popping due to the playlist of nostalgically memorized tunes of the olden times mixed with the up and coming songs that have already been drilled into our skulls thanks to common day radio stations. Speaking of tunes, I've recently picked up a really nice tape deck at a thrift shop and has been an interesting medium of audio to explore. Though I currently only have 7 cassettes, I hope to keep nurturing and growing my collection. With my age maturing and the pressure of constant work engrained in the minds of us all, I've finally caved in and got a job. It should be a great learning experience and getting spending money from people besides close relatives will be fun as well. As with any update, the pipe of drawing has constantly been flowing, but this week with a twist for that I've been trying my hand at using sharpies. While some have gone into areas of overly simplified due to loss of detail, others show true potential and I'm quite happy with them for such reason. Things I recommend listening to this week are Frank Ocean's Channel Orange, Deafhaven's Sunbather, Sleep's Dopesmoker, and Millennial Dream Corp's DRAKE 遗事 JOSH / / JOSH 遗事 DRAKE.

Another Monday

Happy Monday folks,

The past week at my house has been completely dedicated to cleaning. From my bedroom, to the garage, to the piles amung piles of clutter in the basement, I've been sorting through and organizing essentially forgotten memories lost in the sands and dust of time. It's certainly been a long process seeing how there's still many more boxes to go through, but slow and steady cleans the house. Besides the deep philosophical thoughts unburied by seemingly worthless junk found in the crevices of my household, I've been continually drawing and what have you but I've also been watching a lot of documentaries. Some resonating at this moment are Children of Darkness and The Confessions of Robert Crumb. While the latter is more of an insight into the strange world of an interesting artist, the prior is a pretty chilling yet emotional look at kids that reside in psychiatric camps. The interviews with the patients are what make the film touching for that you have a glimpse into a world we individually may have never thought existed. If you ever have the chance and the need to reflect on the how careless we are with what we take for granted, I highly recommend it. Along with documentaries the music I've been listening to has been a mix of new aged R&B, trippy vaporwave, and some good ol' pop punk. Artists and albums that were in this mix that I'd recommend would be Blood Orange's Cupid Delux, Macintosh Plus' Floral Shoppe, and American Footballs self titled album. All and all the week has been filled with reflection as well as a recent case of painstaking insomnia which hopefully with wither away seeing that I wanna continue to feel well rested and such for the days to come.

Till next time...

It's Already Been a Month?!?

Welp, it seems the summer solstice has came and settled over the Wisconsin area for a little over a month now, and while it may seem as though I've been inactive and stagnant within the realms of my household, my summer has been filled with numerous activities. Of the most recent activities, the one I'm am still recovering from would be the surgical removal of my wisdom teeth, which the resulting stitches have continually been prodding into my cheeks cause swelling of the face. Besides the pessimistic views sprung from dental problems, I've also attended an amazing art camp up in the Green Bay area. Through this camp I learned how to use Flash and was able to create a minute long music video over the course of a week. It was rad not only learning the software but also watching other peoples techniques and talents. The other large chunk of my summer has been dedicated to surfing the educational waves of college visits which have sparked some deeper thinking and examination of life goals. Perhaps the coolest college I have visited so far has been MCAD, which has an excellent mix of big city entertainment and small town individual learning. As this life update comes to a close, some albums I've been listening to that I'd recommend to those out in cyberspace reading this would be Mac DeMarco's Salad Days, Guantanamo Baywatch's Chest Crawl, and Death Grips' The Money Store (RIP Death Grips).
